Are you ready….

You’ve got your tickets, you’ve got your best buddies in tow, Lets get to the wedding show & find that champagne bar I hear you say!

Beyond the rising hubbub of excited folk planning their dream day, take a moment.. remember that day they asked you those four little words  ‘will you marry me’, that feeling you had.

Bottle it, times it by a hundred & imagine you’re about to walk down the aisle.. In that dress you spent a million hours trying to find, the shoes, the SHOES you tried on, but these are the awesome ones. The ‘oh so pretty’ flowers that you hoped would look as gorgeous as you imagined..and they do.

Your dutiful bridesmaids, have been with you every step of the way are behind you in a bubble of anticipation, they look beautiful, the hair, make up & morning of girlie prep began calmly, you’re glad you choose your dearest friend as bridesmaid, she knows just when to top your glass of prosecco & change that tune playing to stop the overwhelming feeling that this day is here, what a journey.

You’re nearly at the altar, in a few seconds you’ll be saying ‘I do’… they look round & see you as a bride for the first time, tears are falling as your betrothed takes your hand & whispers ‘my wife to be, you look absolutely stunning’.

You stumbled & giggled your way through the vows, & walked down the aisle united together forever. We did it, how amazing! You see all the smiling faces looking at you both…many congratulations, hugs, kisses & chats fill the next hour.

The nervous bestman has rehearsed his speech he can’t wait for his time to come & go, so he can down that next pint. The venue looks like all the pages you’ve ever pinned on pinterest, like silent worker bees the venue staff, caterers, waitresses seamlessly scurrying round all day ensuring your day is just perfect. The food, yum.. who knew a roast beef dinner could look like a work of art and the pudding, oh my wordy you have to make room for the pudding. Aunty Marg has had a bit too much pimms & Grandad is nodding off in the corner already.

The cake, it’s a shame to cut this masterpiece it should be raised on a plinth & be admired forever.

The evening is here, your looney workmates have arrived, now lets get this party started.

The first dance is upon you, why did we think a strictly routine was a good idea?!

In a haze of euphoric tipsiness you dance the night away with all your loved ones.

This was the best day ever ….

Everything above are moments we’ve witnessed & captured throughout our time being wedding photographers, and we would love to do the same for you.

We love weddings & if you like what you’ve read then i’m sure you’ll like us..we’d love to meet you. We’re Eve & Jason, husband & wife team at Shepherd Photography ..stand G73

The best of 2016

We’re a little late to the party in our round up of 2016, but we’re making up for the lack of blog posts last year, we’ve been super busy capturing all your fabulous memories & want to share our faves with you so in your best Elvis voice ….
… “ C’mon, C’mon, a little less conversation a little more action….”  2016 if you were a song to boogie too this would be you, actions speak louder than words & twenty sixteen you had plenty. From Mom of the bride gamboling down a hill, dinosaur re-enactments during speeches, a bicycle made for two, piggy back races, to arriving via elephant to your wedding. You were amazing, thank you to all our wonderful brides, grooms, reindeers & elephants ..

Aimee & Alex, Hoar Cross Hall

Aimee & Alex are super cool, i mean look at them, they’re totally drop dead gorgeous!

The camera loves them, well so do we. Right from when we first met them we couldn’t wait to be part of their big day.

The sun was shining, the drink was flowing, family & friends reunited to witness declarations of love on this perfect wedding day.

Alex & the guys looked very dapper in their tweed get up, the bridesmaids all looked gorgeous ‘pretty in pink’ with their wildflower posies. Aimee looked super stunning & without being up staged by her beautiful pedigree puddy cats wanting to wear her dress !

After the church service we headed to the splendid grounds of Hoar Cross Hall for photo’s , while we shot some group pics folk sipped prosecco in the beautiful terrace gardens. After a couple of glasses the bridesmaids found the swing 😉 .. you couldn’t help but hear the giggles.

We ran a fun booth in the evening & the frolics & frivolity continued into the night, i don’t think we’ve laughed so much !

A huge thank you to all concerned, especially Aimee & Alex you guys were amazing, beautiful attentive & just down right lovely.

Much love & enjoy the photo’s

TWENTY. FIFTEEN, You were pretty fantastic…

Hello everyone!

Well here we are in January 2016  we’ve all had our fill of turkey, mince pies ( oh go on just one more! ), auld lang syne, boozy nights and lazy days, and family get togethers ( only kidding! )  we find ourselves glancing back at last year before we plunge forward into the new year. As we sat down to write this blog look back of 2015 we felt we must say a very humble but huge thank you to all the amazing brides and grooms, bridesmaids, ushers and families and just plain wonderful people that we had the privilege of meeting, sharing moments and working with last year, you all know who you are and we blow a kiss to you all, thanks everyone!

We thought long and hard ( tea and biscuits were consumed ) about which one word in particular  summed up the year?  Then we both remembered the fantastic vicar from  one wedding who introduced the giggling couple with an exuberant “Wow”, yes that has to be the first word that springs to mind.

Wow!

Forty weddings and our busiest year yet! Lots of amazing memories and firsts, including,

Pom Pom confetti fight ( thanks to Rene and Adam, don’t worry no one was hurt In the making of this wedding )

Dad is the vicar!

Top Hats and canes ( yes they are making a come back! )

Our first Bride and Bride ( a completely beautiful day )

Lord of the Pies! Truly delicious.

Eve’s first Mehndi.

West Midlands Safari Park. ( Spring Grove House )

Camper van craziness.

Fireworks & drunken sparklers.

Wedding Whisky.

Doctor Who’s Tardis ( without Matt Smith! )

Night at the museum ( including last night of the proms singalong ) Yes this was a wedding!

Hold on just pausing for breath … Phew that’s better…

Windswept teepee hilarity.

Wedding party hay bale shenanigans.

Amazing first dances ( special mention for Millie and Ben! )

Jase in scary high cherrypicker  “this will be great for a whole group shot” nightmare!

Marquee madness.

English afternoon tea.

Rain!

Nerves.

Great speeches.

Beautiful brides and breathtaking dresses

Handsome grooms and cool suits

Tears

And love, lots and lots of love…

By the end of the year we had witnessed RAF men get their girl, had seen a magician wed his sweetheart, a Evertonian copper marry his penguin, a leisure centre manager marry his pharmacist, had been a part of not one but two very wonderful Anglo-Dutch weddings, and been a part of the best New Years Eve ever! We have loved every minute of these tearjerking, laughter making, backbreaking, awe inspiring beautiful occasions and can only hope this year is even more so.

Well done you lot you were amazing! Hope you enjoy the gallery and Happy New Year!

Eve and Jason xx

The Ashes Barns Country House Wedding Venue

We’ve wanted to photograph a wedding at The Ashes Barns Country House Wedding Venue since forever, so when Shona got in touch about her wedding we let out a little squeal!

Beautiful surroundings of a magnificent wedding venue, the day flowed with an air of sweet enjoyment! Their surname is ‘Sweet’ & featured throughout the wedding details…genius!
The family own a bespoke pie eatery ‘Lord of the Pies’, these went down an a treat with the party, they were pretty delicious.
Shona looked picture perfect in her bridal gown, her bridesmaids dutifully helped her throughout the morning getting ready till that moment when all that planning & preparation were complete and it’s time to marry her Mr Sweet.
We loved being part of their big day, running around catching bubbles with bridesmaids, chatting to family & friends and checking out the gorgeous highland cattle who i’m sure kept winking at me !
